Long Overdue Update!

So it has been a crazy couple of months around here. I will recap the past 3 months briefly and then get to the good stuff at the end!

Thanksgiving was miserable for all. Both kids came down with croup and Madison threw up from Thanksgiving day to the next monday. Luke was only a little congested. The doctor said her's ended up turning viral and we caught luke's just in time. While the kids were sick my mom came for thanksgiving so it was nice to have an extra set of hands to keep up with all the laundry. No pictures from thanksgiving since everyone was sick!

For Christmas alan's side of the family came and everyone had a good time! Madison did good and only opened her presents this year and Alan opened all of Luke's. He was a bit overwhelmed with everything. Below are some pictures from Christmas!

opening gifts!

Luke enjoying everything!

Also over Christmas we got to meet up with some friends that we haven't seen in a while. Adam, Jenn, Sarah and Andrew. All the kids had a great time and while the boys were napping the girls got to ride on the power wheel outside. They had a blast going in circles in the front yard!

Alan and I celebrated birthdays during November and December. I threw him a party at the house with some of our friends. For my birthday, his parents were still here and watched the kids, so we went up to Buckhead and had a fondue chocolate dessert with some friends! It was absolutely the best chocolate I have EVER had!

For New Year's we went to florida and then Alan and I went over to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl. We had a great time and it was good to get away for the day without the kids. We got to enjoy some benigets and Cafe du Monde and walked the streets of New Orleans. The game was great we totally dominated and it was nice to finally get to see a game, especially Tebow's last game in a Gator uniform! They had fun at Mimi's and Pop's house playing in the dog cage and going to chickfila for lunch!

So now that bring us to January! Luke turned 1 on the 16th. I can't believe he is already 1! Time sure does fly by! We had a small get together with just our families and did cake and presents. He still wasn't into opening gifts, but enjoyed all his new toys after daddy got them out of the bags!

Loving his new toy!
Ummm.......cake!

Getting help with his presents from Madison!

Madison update: So Madison is almost 3.5 years old. She is turning into such a little lady. She loves purses, shoes and dressing up in her princess outfits! She is definitly a girly girl! We are still having trouble using the potty to poop. She loves going to school and is learning how to spell her name. She can spell about half of her name, which by the end of the school year if she can just spell it back will be a great feat. She loves to play with Luke and his toys. She prefers to play with his dump trucks and balls over her toys at times. We are almost through another school year and are trying to decide if we should send her 3 days or 5 days a week for pre-k.

Luke update: So Luke is now 1 and very mobile. He started walking just after christmas and hasn't looked back. He just needed a little motivation to get him going, which turns out to be a ball in front of his face to walk to. He loves playing with balls and dump trucks. I think his favorite thing to do is dance! At his 1 year appointment he weighed in at 24lbs 30z and was 31.5 inches long. He now has 6 teeth. We went 5 months inbetween teeth, but has just recently gotten all 4 of his top teeth at once! He loves table food and has been off baby food since 8.5 months! We just switched to whole milk and he loves it! Also, he is great with a sippy cup. He is still not a good car rider, 4 hours seems to be the limit after that his is miserable! Overall he is a happy boy!

So, now that we are up to date on everything we can get to the fun part, our disney cruise. We just got back from cruising to the bahamas with the kids and our mom's last week. We all had so much fun dispite luke's lack of napping or sleeping at night. The weather was perfect, but the water temperatures in the ocean were not as warm as I would have liked it. We took a 3 day cruise to Nassau and Castaway Cay. Madison had a blast in the kids area and requested to go there at times. We left her on ship with the other kids while the rest of us shopped in Nassau. After shopping we enjoyed some time in the pool with Madison while Luke tried to nap. Our dinners were amazing and we go to see lots of characters around the ship! Madison got her princess fix in and even got to see the new princess Tiana! We got to spend the day on the beach at Castaway Cay (their own private island) and both kids loved playing in the sand and water! We even got to spend some time at the adult pool on ship while the kids napped one afternoon. The service was disney quality and we all had so much fun, we are definitley looking at going again sometime. On the way back to atlanta we stopped in jacksonville to visit with Kari and tour the campus to see all the changes that have occurred since we left. After a short visit and lunch we finally made it back to Atlanta. Luke was a horrible car rider and screamed most of the trip while we were in the car! Madison did great except we just had to stop so many times for food and potty breaks. Overall we all had fun, but were exhausted from the trip!

Pictures to follow in another post after I get some pictures from the grandma's camera's and a few of the pictures from the ship scanned in!

Meeting Captain Jack!
