Dickerson Family Blog Spot: Baby Luke Has Arrived!

I am only a week late on posting this, but it is totally understood! Luke Thomas Dickerson arrived on Jan. 16th at 9:47pm. He weighed in at 7lbs 11.5oz and was 20.75 inches long. We showed up at the hospital that morning at 10am for a scheduled induction and after a long day he finally showed up. I think he realized just how cold it was outside and wanted to take his time. Last Friday was one of the coldest days of the year. I don't think we got about 30 degrees that day and when we woke up it was in the single digits. I don't blame him for taking his time! The delivery was pretty uneventful. He was born with a slight fever, so we had to spend an extra day in the hospital so he could be monitored. Everything check out just fine and we were all able to go home on Monday morning. Madison is enjoying being a big sister! She really doesn't like it when he is sleeping, she keeps on wanting to wake him up. And when he cries she runs around the house asking "where is brother?" It has been a bit of an adjustment period for her, alot of acting out and open defiance. Each day seems to be getting a little bit better! He is almost back to his birth weight and has a mild case of jaundice, but the doctor doesn't seem to think it is worth doing the blood work since he is eating so well. Yesterday, he weighed in at 7lbs 9oz and some how shrunk to 19.5 inches. But in his defense he likes to ball up his legs, so I am sure no one has gotten an good measurement.
