Busy August!
Wow....August just managed to fly by for us. August is always a busy month anyways with our anniversary and Madison's birthday, but this year it seemed extra busy! Madison got to spend some extra time before her birthday with Alan's mom and sister. Both kids had a blast with them in town and ate up all the extra attention. Madison had a blast at her Tinker bell themed party and enjoyed playing with all her friends on her new swing set. My mom ended up coming up for her party, so her and Luke had a blast getting so much loving while they were here. Luke had a fairly quiet 1st part of the month, I guess he knew it was sissy's birthday and didn't want to show her up. So he waited until after everyone left to start crawling a couple days after her birthday and by the end of the month he got his 1st tooth! He is pretty good at getting around now and loves to pull up on anything he can find. We have only had one knock to the head that left a mark. He pulled up on a little chair in the living room and was trying to sit back down and fell over and knocked his head on the floor. The following weekend after Madison's birthday, I took her to see Dora Live on Stage. She loved it!!! She was a little baffled in the begining on how Dora could be on stage and didn't look like the cartoon on tv, but by the end she was singing and dancing along with everyone else. At the end of the show she wanted to watch it again! The next week we had preschool orientation and she got to meet her teachers. Both of her teachers are new to the school, but one had subbed last year in her classroom, so she recognized her. After the orientation Luke and I headed down to Florida for the weekend for a funeral. Luke loved all the one on one time with me and Mimi. Madison didn't have to wait too long for some more Mimi time, because they all came up for Labor Day weekend, and Pops came down from DC to spend some time with the kids. While they were here, they wanted to get some pictures done with the kids, so we all loaded up and took the kids to portrait innovations on saturday afternoon. The kids did good and we ended up getting some good shots of them. This past Sunday we took the kids to their 1st baseball game. Madison had a blast at the Braves game, but Luke didn't do so well. He was fussy most of the game, so Alan walked around the ballpark with him in the stroller. By the end of the game, Madison was doing the chop and the wave. We had seats in the outfield right next to the drum, so it was a bit load for her in the begining, but she got use to it after a while. She has finished a full week of school and is having fun! We didn't even have tears this year when I dropped her off. I took her to her room last week both days and on the 1st day she didn't want me to go. But after having her go play with another kid she did better and when his mom said that she was leaving she turned to me and told me ' bye mom, see you later!' Now we are getting ready for our big trip to Disney World at the end of the month with my mom. We are going for six days at the end of the month/begining of October. She is so excited to go, she keeps asking me if we are going to go have dinner with Mickey every night. After we get back from Disney we are going to see Disney on Ice in Atlanta, and if that wasn't enough Disney we just booked a Disney cruise for the end of January! Seems like we just keep staying busy with the kids, before we know it Christmas will be here and then off to planning for Luke's 1st birthday! I will post pictures and video (Luke crawling) from August in another post later tonight!
